 The idea is simple. When you reach for your hammer you should reach for the handle not the head.

I have been a builder for 12 years. Before that I was a trim carpenter and framer. I always had the same problem with my hammer. It would catch in my leather holster or it would bang on the tile floors when I was working inside. That's when I invented the HOLSTAR.

The HOLSTAR fixes all problems related to the swinging hammer hanging off your work apron. Now when I reach for my hammer it is securely fastened to the HOLSTAR which is securely fastened to my leg. No more swinging hammers that bang into doorways and cabinets!

The thing I like most about the HOLSTAR is that you reach for the handle not the head of the hammer. Seems obvious now, but when was the last time you grabbed the sharp edge of a knife just so you could flip it around and use it to cut your steak.

I have been wearing and using the HOLSTAR on my jobsites for close to 7 years now. It was actually patented for the second time in 2003. I never really thought too much about commercial distribution of the tool just because of the investment required to get it out to the general public. This is where the internet comes into play.
